Market Common

This public-private partnership was a collective effort to redevelop an East Coast air base. The thriving high-density urban village stretches across 114 acres and includes townhomes, retail, restaurants, a 14-screen movie theatre, grocery store, and charter school. McCrory, one of three general contractors selected to simultaneously construct the massive development, worked closely with the design team to tighten conceptual designs, material selection and scheduling a year before construction began.

“Market Common revitalized a significant tract of Myrtle Beach. McCrory helped bring this innovative vision to life.”

McCrory completed two, four-story mixed-use buildings containing ground floor Class A retail space topped by 160 upscale residences. The structures were built to strict coastal standards due to likely exposure to water, debris and erosion hazards. Through value engineering and collaboration, we were able to shave 10 percent off the original conceptual estimate and brought the project in significantly under budget.
